Cornerstone Christian Church has grown from the roots Ps. Charles and Christine
Newington planted in 1990 – people learning to worship wholeheartedly, walk simply with God, and love generously in our city.
We’re part of the Australian Christian Churches, a Pentecostal movement committed to Spirit-filled living, biblical truth, and the mission of Jesus. You can read more here on the ACC Statement of Beliefs.
While we are proudly part of the ACC, Cornerstone has historically been home to many who ve come from a wide range of Christian traditions, as well as those new to faith. This enriches and shapes who we are collectively. Our teaching and worship reflect a love for the story of God’s people across generations and culture — a heritage that continues to shape us today.
Here in Brisbane’s inner north, we’re continuing that story – learning to walk in step with the Spirit, to live out the ways of the Kingdom, and to join God’s renewing work with love, hope, and open hands.
We gather every Sunday at 9:00am at 81 Mina Parade, Alderley, finishing around 10:40am, though most of us stay around for a cuppa and a chat – some say that’s the best part!
We love worship that connects us to God, preaching that brings truth and life from His Word, and fellowship that reminds us we’re better together. You’ll often hear many voices – prayers, Scripture readings, encouragement, and stories of what God is doing among us – because we believe God delights to dwell in the midst of His people. We value the gifts of God expressed through our pastors and leaders, but also at work in and through the Body of Christ.
We have age-based programs for children up to early teens, and we cherish our ‘All In’ Sundays during school holidays when all generations worship, learn and grow together.
